Importing email

I re-installed windows XP, and an older outlook program than what I had
prior. I now cannot import my email from the newer outlook that I had into
the older program I now have. Does anyone have a clue how I can do this.
Something about a Data1out file?
 
It will help when you actually post the versions involved.
Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 formatted pst-files (UNICODE) cannot be read
by previous versions of Outlook.
 
Assuming you are refering to Outlook, in both cases, you need to state the
outlook versions used.
Tip: Outlook, pre 2003 cannot read data files created in 2003 / 2007
versions (when default data format used)
PS In any case importing is not the way to deal with native OL data, within
OL, File>Open>Data File.....browse to the location
