I work in an environment that relies heavily on an outdated data entry
system. Recently, my boss suggested that he'd like to be able to import event
data from this outdated system into our outlook calendar. The outdated system
is able to export information into a text file. Is there a simple way to
import that data into the outlook calendar? Do I need to figure out how to
convert it into an ical file or someting similar? If so, can anyone suggest
an online tutorial or guide on creation of such files? Thanks for the help!

If the text file is comma-delimited, you can import it with Outlook's File | Import and Export command.

can you direct me to a list of the fields that can be imported in either a
comma or tab delimited file into the outlook calendar? Thanks for your help!

Export from the folder into which you want to import the new data and
examine the fields Outlook includes.
