I have a large data base in Lotus. I would like to
import the whole db into Access. I frequently open an
individual file in Lotus and send it as an e-mail
attachment to business associates. Fewer and fewer of
them have the ability to open these files as they no
longer have Lotus. Can I just import the whole db and
then use it in Access????

Hi Bob,

Do you mean Lotus Approach or Lotus Notes, or Lotus something else?

Either way, it's almost always possible to export the data from there
into a form that Access can import (e.g. CSV or .dbf files), but all the
functionality of the database (forms, views, reports or whatever) will
have to be re-created using Access's own tools.

As far as I know, most Approach databases keep their data in .dbf files
that Access can import directly.

A different approach to your problem would be to stick with your present
database and, when you need to send data to an associate, export it in a
common format such as a CSV or .dbf file and send them that.
