I will be having an administrative person putting together a large contact
database for me and I will be sending the members of the database emails and
letters. Because the assistant will be working at another site, I'm wondering
what program she should type the contacts into: Excel or Outlook. I would
prefer to use the contacts in Outlook but I wonder at how easy it will be to
import them into my program, while keeping them separate. I have Outlook 2002.

Thank you for your help.

If I were doing this with you, I'd create a new PST and a Contacts folder in
that PST. I'd add the contacts to that Contacts folder and, when done, send
you the PST. You could then save it to yor HD and open it in Outlook with
File>Open>Outlook Data File. You'd then see the Contacts folder exactly as
I had created it. It will be separate from your main Contacts folder.

Thank you Brian. When I now open the new PST in Outlook will it start to
appear as a new PST folder each time I open Outlook? If it does, would there
be a way of eventually deleting this new PST after I have no further use of
it?

Yes.

When you're finished with it, right-click its root in the Folder List and
choose Close.
