importing contacts

Is there any way to import custom fields (many of them) into Outlook? It seems to me that I should be able to design a form based, for example, on an Excel spreadsheet with rows of contact names and an unlimited number of columns, and then import them to Outlook. I cannot find a way to map the fields.
 
You can't map custom fields using Outlook's import function. You need to
either write your own code or use a 3rd party solution (such as
ContactGenie - link below) or you may find other alternatives at the
Slipstick site - one page to look at is
