I have a user who said he created a custom contacts form.
If he creates a new contact, it will use that form. When
he imported some contacts from an Excel file, he said it
did not use the custom form but rather the default. How
can he get it to use the custom form when importing?

You can't import contacts via the standard import wizard to import data
using custom forms or any user-defined fields. You need a 3rd party product
to accomplish that (such as ContactGenie - link below).

You can also look for other possible solutions at

In the properties of the folder you would have set that
folder to only use that form. New items need to be
changed to use that form after they are imported.
Microsoft have a macro that will do this for you. Look in
their knowledge base @ support.microsoft.com Article
number 201089 and download the macro.
