Importing contacts from excel

Hi
I have a list of contacts in excel but when I try to
import them in to outlook I,m told that i need to define
the range name in excel which i have done as per the
outlook help instructions. Despite doing this the same
problem occurs can any one help ?
 
Try this: Create a few contacts in Outlook, then export to Excel. Compare
the exported spreadsheet to the one that you want to import and make the
appropriate adjustments.

Also, depending on the version of Outlook, which you did not state, you may
require a fix from Microsoft.
