We got new computers and copied over the outlook.pst file
and now when we click new message and To: an error message
appears, "The address list could not be displayed. ect."
Also when we click OK it brings up the "select names"
dialog, but nothing is displayed- clicking the down arrow
produces an address book and another contact list, in
which are the contacts. We dont want to have to go thru
this procedure everytime to send an email. Thanks,

How did you "copy over" your PST? After you did, did you then reset the
Outlook Address Book to use the new information? If you don't know how to do
that, post your version so we can tell you.

How do you reset the Outlook Address Book?
