importing audio

when i go to import music to movie maker from a cd, it tells me this....

The file D:\Track01.cda is not a supported file type, and it cannot be
imported into Windows Movie Maker.

and does that for a lot of music. it works fine for music i have saved to
the computer.

plz help and explain. thx.

added: also im using WMM 2.1

CDA is not supported...rip the CD with .wma
as the target format and you can import into
Movie Maker.

Many formats are reportedly compatible with
Movie Maker but the most reliable choices are:

Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv-avi
Music - wmv, wma, wav
