Importing audio files into Movie Maker

I have downloaded songs from iTunes and converted them to mp3 format. This
has worked fine in the past. Now I am getting error messages that say file
"xyz.mp3 could not be imported." It of course does not tell me why it could
not be imported. I am trying to make a wedding present for my brother -
please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
