Hi,
How can I generally import and export some calendar events in Outlook via
pure txt files?
Is there somewhere a helpful introduction to this topic?

I have Outlook 2002 myself, but the problem is that I admin a database
driven web forum system in our institute and this system has a calendar for
public events and also personal events of our staff.
Now some of us use Outlook calendars (different versions I am afraid) and I
would like to try to make some simple system how to transfer selected events
between our web system and Oulooks. More important in first hand is to import
events to Outlook.

Thank you.

Can the web system export/save its data in any text format (comma separated,
iCal, etc)?

Yes, in principle. I mean comma separated is easy to define.
iCal and vCal syntax seems quite complicated, they and Outlook has much more
options and possibilities than our web system.
So it does not seem reasonable to start programming full iCal/vCal syntax
handler. Some kind of simpified sub set could be possible.

I do not know iCal / vCal syntax yet. Is there any introduction to them?
I already made some tests and found out that I can export single events from
Outlook, and also I can edit those files and import them back as new
different events. But how about many events at same time in same file?

thanx

Thanks, that was a helpful link!
Now I know how to import multiple events in one *.vcs file from our web
system to users Outlook. :-)

Seems that I can export multiple events only as comma or tab separated file
from Outlook. Is it true?

btw. What is the difference between iCal and vCal systems? Is iCal older?

I'm not really sure what the differences are but I'm sure they're detailed
out there on the web somewhere

iCal is vCal version 2.0.
