I have been using an address book... Parsons technology... Address
Book for Windows, V.6.0a... a nice program that I have been using for
years.... I would like to import these addresses into Outlook v.2003.

I have tried to follow the directions in several books and online but
nothing seems to bring this off............ also, I want the address
book to look like the original if possible... not like the 'contact'
list in Outlook............ so is this possible?

also............. what is the difference between "contact" and
"address book" in Outlook?

thanks.................

If the program supports exporting to a .csv or .txt file, you can then
import it into Outlook. Outlook will use the built in view for contacts and
is not configurable beyond the choices for display shown as default.

Contacts are where your actual contact information, including personal
details, birthdays, etc. and notes are kept. The Address Book is simply a
view of the contact folder that just displays the e-mail addresses
associated with that contact.
