When I import a picture into WMM the picture is quite sharp. But I have
noticed that when you drag it onto the story board the picture shown on the
right turns slightly fuzzy and not sharp at all. The image i am using is just
a normal digital picture file. The size of the file is 1.39MB. However when
you dragg the file onto the story board time line it appears to be reduced in
file size by 50K or so. Is this causing the fuzziness? Can any body please
help.

Many thanks

For projects that only include still shots...
you might find Photo Story 3 to be a better app.

PhotoStory 3 For Windows

or...
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/photostory/default.mspx

As for Movie Maker....

Files on the timeline are displayed in low
resolution but should look fine when you
save the complated movie file.

Also you might want to try using a custom
profile when you save.

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Tick...'Best Quality For My Computer'
Next/
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

Also, you may find it useful to use
a custom profile:
