Imported tables showing up with hanging indents

This is such a bizarre thing I'm hoping someone has experienced it and
knows how to fix it.

Every time I bring a table in to PPT (XP) from either Word or Excel,
all of the text suddenly develops hanging indents. If I create the
table from scratch, no hanging indents. If I copy it in, voila!
Hanging indents. It's so weird.

I'd really not rather go the route of "paste special" since it
increases the file size by so much. I just want to figure out the
cause of this bizarre disease and rectify it.

Anyone experience this and have a way to fix it??

How are you bringing in the table? It sounds as though you're pasting it into
a text box or the like?
