Imported Sender and header info

I'm using Outlook 2003, and I've imported a bunch of old messages from
Outlook Express (via outlook express). Unfortunately, a lot of these
messages aren't responding to my rules. Upon further examination, it
seems as if the internet headers are empty and the sender's info is
not quite right. For instance, right clicking on the sender info,
only brings up copy/paste options and nothing about contact info.
reply will work with an embedded mailto: link. I've checked the
underlying mapi properties, and it has the sender info.

What is the problem here?

Is there anything I can do to get these messages to work with my
rules?

I'd rather not, but if there is a programming option to fix, please
let me know also.

This was an OE export... I think that is the only way I can choose a
per folder option.

Thanks, J

Did you use Outlook's Import option or OE's Export feature?

Yes, export from OE gives you a choice of folders and works better.

Thank you for your reply. Perhaps I made too much emphasis on the
import process. The issue is that the sender's information isn't
easily accessible. You can see their name, but not their email
address. Other then using a tool like outlook spy, the only way I can
find the actual email address is by pressing 'reply' and looking at
the mailto link in the replied to part of the message.

More to the point, my rules based on the sender's information isn't
being triggered with these messages. (Yes, they are usually working).
I would have thought this would have a been problem others have run
into. no?

Any other information or suggestions appreciated.

Thanks, J
