imported music displays crazy duration

I am using Movie Maker on Vista. I imported some songs to my project, and
all but one works fine. This one is only 3 minutes long, but when I hover
over it in MM, the duration shows as 33949:44:31. And of course if I try to
add it to the timeline anyway, I get a message that the project can't be
longer than 24 hours, so the task is cancelled. What's up with that?! The
one thing different about this song from the others, is that it is an iTunes
purchase. I did convert it to mp3, with the same result. But I also used
TuneClone to convert to a non-DMA mp3, and again the same result. Any ideas??

..wma or .wav would be a better choice.
Have a look at the following articles:

So how do I convert an mp3 to wma? I found several pieces of software using
Google, but I wasn't sure how reliable the free ones were. Any
recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

There are links and suggestions in the articles I posted for you.

Maybe WIndows Media Encoder would be worth a try:

Another possibility woudl be CDex:

CDex

One easy solution would be to create a music CD with your
mp3s and then RIP the CD with Windows Media Player with
..wma as the target format.
