Im running windows movie make 2.1 on windows xp SP2. I can import an mpeg
recorded on my computer with a videocamera (via my TV card). However it wont
recognise the video file as a video, and for some reason when i add it to the
timeline, it adds it to the audio slot. It was not doing this earlier, as a
few weeks ago i successfully did what i wanted to. Anyone have any idea
whats wrong?

Hello,

You do not say what changed between the good times and bad. BUT, Movie Maker
does not in any case work well with MPG or MP3 files. Best to convert them to
AVI, WAV respectively

Hey, well the diff between good and bad is that a short while ago WMM was
recognising it as a video file, but it is now not. Anyways i will try
converting it to something else. What would you recommend using, to convert
it?

Hello,

OK, if you pay a visit to my site and click on GREAT LINKS > KNOWLEDGE BASE >
VIDEO HELP and select your target and source types you will be given a link to
the necessary software options....if you do not get a link then its quite
possible that there is no software that can do what you want (In the public
domain at least)...The Video Help site is the best online resource I have ever
seen for Movie Making.

Hello,

Movie Maker throws its teddy in the corner when you give it an MPPeg or MP3
file to chew on.

Go to my website and click on GREAT LINKS > KNOWLEDGE BASE > VIDEO HEL there
you will find the best resource I have come across on the net...if they have
not got the right converter for you then it probably does not exist.
