When people in my organization import updated contact information, there
calendars get populated with birthdays and anniversaries, which most people
do not want. Does anyone know of a feature in Outlook 2003 or Exchange 2003
to turn that off? We are running Exchange 2003 onsite by the way. Thank you.

The only way I know before the fact is to remove the birthdays and
anniversaries prior to adding them. Afterward, it's fairly easy to remove
them by displaying the calendar in a table view like Events where they
should be grouped by recurrence. Look in the "Yearly" group.

I have the exact reverse problem. I would like to automatically add the
birthdays and anniversary of my contacts as I use Outlook as my Client Data
System. How do I automate this feature?
Thanks

Just add the contact's birthdate to the contact record and Outlook will
automatically populate the calendar.

Thanks, I see that in my Calendar the items are there as you indicated.
However on my older contacts I have an idication on the notes page that the
birthday and anniversary are there but not in the newer contacts that I have
added to my contact list. Is there another setting that I should be using
for that to be showing up in my notes?

How did you add those newer contacts? If you imported them from some
source, then it's understandable why you might not have calendar entries for
their birthdays. Open each of those contacts and change something, even if
it's only to change something to itself. Then Save and Close the contact
and Outlook should add the birthday event.

Brian,
I have not trouble putting in the Birthday's on the details tab and yes it
does show on my calendar however some of my older contacts have an icon that
appears on the general tab with the birthday and anniversary icons showing in
the notes section. But if I add a new contact and put in the birthday the
notes section on the general tab no longer shows a birthday or anniverary
icon. I would like that to appear on the notes automatically if possible.
Thanks for your help.

I don't know of any way to do that automatically. When I add a birthday to
the Contact item, it does not appear in the Notes section unless I then open
the calendar event and add the Contact as an association in the Contacts
field.at the lower left.
