I don't have the FP web. It was created on a notebook
computer and published. The HD crashed on the notebook
before I got back to the office to backup. So, I tried
unsuccessfully to import. Any ideas?

Thanks

Where are you importing the web from?

If the web is on a server that has the FP extensions, then you can open it
in FP and publish.

I have the site on a hosting service, not a local LAN, so
I am trying to import it from the internet site. I tried
an import and also just an FTP copy of the entire
directory to my computer and was unsuccessful. I can run
the copied web from my browser on my local machine and it
works fine. But when I try to open it on my local
machine with FP certain text (like phone numbers) is
missing and the special effect hyperlink buttons are
missing.

Thanks

Does the remote server have the FP extensions installed?

I just installed them. The web was (and still is)
working fine so they may have already been installed. If
I copy the web down from my server it works fine. When I
open it and try to edit with FP, the hoverbuttons
disappear in preview mode and a lot of the text is
missing.

Thanx

With the extensions install you need to open the site directly in FP on the
remote server via FP's File Menu | Open Web and then use File Menu | Publish
Web to get a copy on to your local machine, you do not want to copy or
import the web.

Also do no use the Preview tab, use File Menu | Preview in Browser.
