Import Text Files into Access

When I click on Get External Data and then choose the
files of type box, HTML, Excel and Text files do not show
up. This is with Access97. Could someone point me in the
right direction to get these installed? They are
installed in Word and Excel, but are unavailable in Access.

Sounds like this is the problem discussed in

Look for the file mstext35.dll on your hard drive (it should be in your
System folder) and use regsvr32.exe to reregister it.

If you're missing other file choices, do the same for msexcl35.dll,
msxbse35.dll and mspdox35.dll
