I imported a fixed-width text file into Excel and the program guessed
incorrectly about the columns. I needed to delete one of the arrow lines
that shows where fields start and stop and was not able to delete by
double-clicking on the line.

Hi,

usually deleting arrow lines with double click should work, but if the
problem persists, try to move arrow lines, so that you will have "spare arrow
lines" at the end. In this way you can delete those empty columns after
import.

This won't work if your importing a specific number of columns into a
spreadsheet that alreadys has other columns you you want to keep to the right
of the imported text. The other bug I have seen is that the break lines do
no line up exactly with the text in some cases. In other words you could
create a break line in the center of a letter or number!

I just found that if you double click slightly to the left of the line you
want to delete you can delete a break line. You cannot delte a break line by
double clicking directly on it. And I cannot move a line with out breating
another line in the process.
