Yes. When doing the Import process, click on Options >> button and you'll
see "Import/Export Specs" in the bottom lower left. Click the box.

Sorry - don't see it. Using Access 2000. Which screen
should I find this Options button on?

Use File | Get External Data... | Import.

Select the database from which you want to import the specifications. Click
Open.

On the window that shows, click Options >> button. You'll see the info at
bottom left corner of that window.

Pardon me for jumping in on this thread, but this is a topic that is very near and dear to me. I come from Access from Paradox. In Paradox, one could create an "Import Specification" table for repetative .txt imports. I know how to create and save an Import Specs. table in Access 2002 but there are times that I need the exact same Specs in another database. I have tried your suggestion but do not see the option button to shich you refer. When I Flie|GetExternalData|Import I get the same screen that I see whenever I import or link to data in another database. I click on "Advanced" but there is no opportunity to import the specifications form another database.

I said nothing about an Advanced button. I'll post the directions for the
third time.

Click File.
Hover over Get External Data...
Click Import...
Navigate to the database from which the specification is to be imported.
Click Open.
In the window, at lower right of of screen, click Options >> button.
Click Import/Export Specs checkbox.
Click OK.
