Hi,

how to import auto-form shapes into Excel, for example shapes made i
GIS programs like ArcView.

Can't you copy them in ArcView, and paste them in Excel? Do they have
some special functionality in ArcView that doesn't come across into Excel?

Hi,

its possible to cut the shape in ArcView and paste it in Excel. Befor
you have to convert the shape into graphics (in ArcView).
But in Excel the shape is no more editable, you can't reach the ti
points. You only can stretch the picture horizontally and vertically
Also the colour information get lost. An object with many adjacen
shapes will be treated as one shape. So after pasting it into Exce
practically it is like a picture with a rectangular frame, no more
shape with many tic points.

Copy the unconverted object in ArcView and switch to Excel, then choose
Paste Special from the Edit menu. What choices do you have? Is there
anything listed that looks like "ArcView Object"?

When some programs are registered with Windows, they put object
information in the registry that shows other programs how to deal with
embedding its objects. If ArcView has done this, you should be able to
paste in an object, then double click on the object in Excel to open an
ArcView instance to edit it.
