I am trying to import the Outlook express 6 (WAB) into
Outlook 2000. No matter what I try it fails. I've even
tried using the import feature within Outlook. It tto
fails (compatibility issue???)

Hope you have a suggestion on how to do this.

Is the WAB installed in OE on that computer? If so, can you just export the
OE address book to a .CSV file and import that into Outlook?

I am having the same problem trying to export an OE5.5
address book to Outlook 2002 on the same computer. I tried
the .CSV route and it also did not work.

Dear Rudy, I am trying to copy my Outlook Express from an old Pentium 200,
MS Windows 98 to Outlook 2000 on our new eMachine XP. All my groups are
listed under a yellow folder called Main Identity's Contacts. Using our LAN
we are able to make a WAB file and put it on the XP desktop. When we import
this to OL2000 however, it says the installation of the distribution list
failed. Sure enough, we get the list of contacts when we press contacts on
the folder list, but there are no groups listed under contacts. When we
click on addresses, and then contacts, it shows all the groups on the left
hand side, and all the names to the right, but when I click on a specific
group, there are no names listed.
I would like Contacts to show my list of names to the right, and all my
groups underneath it, so I can click on a group and see the list of names in
that group to the right - just like in OL Express.
It would also be nice if this allows me to view more than just the 4
phone columns.
If you are a new user also, and/or can't help, could you explain how to
contact someone who can help me?
Thanks very much, TH

I have Outlook Express 6.0 on a Pentium 200, Windows 98. I want to move
it to Outlook 2000 on an eMachine, Windows XP. I put my long address list in
..WAB format and copied this via LAN to the XP desktop. When I tried to
import it to OL2000, it did fine except that it told me that it could not
complete the distribution list download.
When I look at OL2000, it shows Contacts on the left with all the
addresses on the right, but there are no groups listed under Contacts.
When I click on the OL2000 Addresses, it shows Contacts on the left
with all the addresses on the right. All the groups are listed under
Contacts, but when I click on them, there are no addresses listed.

Please help. Thanks, TH
