Import Hotmail Contacts into Hotmail

I just started using Outlook today. A long time ago Hotmail sent a message
saying that old Hotmail accounts could synchronize with Outlook at no extra
charge. Only people that set up NEW Hotmail accounts set up going forward
would be subject to fees for that privilege.

Now, how do you copy all of the Hotmail contacts INTO Outlook? I saw there
is a way to copy Outlook Contacts into Hotmail, but not the other way around.
I really do not want to pay to do this. Perhaps I should just forego the
use of Outlook altogether and go back to doing everything via Hotmail's free
contacts list and calendar? Outlook looks like a better program (that came
with my PC!!) but I don't want to have to re-enter all of that contact info
into Outlook. Thanks.

There's no way to do that with a free Hotmail account that I've been able to
find.

What you may be referring to George is the notice about Microsoft Outlook
that comes with Office Pro; it seems that what you are inquiring about is
Outlook Express, the free e-mail program that comes with Windows. Try these
steps:

1. Add Hotmail account to Outlook Express
- From the menu bar, click Tools | Accounts
- Click Add button
- Click Mail...
- Follow the rest of the wizard

Regards.

Paul

It will only work with a paid Hotmail or MSN premium account.

After furious head scratching, Paul asked:

If you had yours set up prior to September 2004, it will still work. If,
however, you format your machine or otherwise uninstall or reinstall it, it
will not work.
