I am a very newbie. Can you import from moviemaker to p3?

As a comment to MS, I don't understand why you need 2 programs to do the
most basic functions (specifically pan/zoom or make titles as separate
frames, and of course save to DVD). Why hasn't Microsoft added pan/zoom and
DVD functionality to MM2? Will they soon?

I am dizzy from all the add-ons needed to get these otherwise wonderful
programs to work just a little better [but grateful for all the help in these
forums].

No you can't import a saved movie into Photo Story 3. Photo Story 3 can only
use still pictures and music/audio.

Text titles can be used on the video track or the overlay one.... I assume
you mean making more fancy titles.

I want to make a separate title frame like you can do in MM2 (before, after),
not overlayed on a picture. Please explain what you mean by: "Text titles
can be used on the video track or the overlay one." Remember i'm a newbie...
Thanks in advance.

In the timeline view of the project, a text clip can be either on the video
track along with your pictures and video clips.... or on the lowermost title
overlay track.

Seems like you want one on the video track itself... if it's on the overlay
track, drag and drop it from one track to the other....

Any of the animations for titles can be used in a text clip, and used on
either track.... on the video track it needs to be snugged up to other
clips.... on the overlay track, it can be moved anywhere. When on the video
track the text clip has a background color that you can change... on the
overlay track the background is transparent so you can see the pix/video
clips under it.

I didn't know there was a timeline in PS3. Maybe we're talking about 2
different things. I wish PS3 could make titles (before, after) like MM2 and
I wish MM2 could pan & zoom like PS3. Is this too hard for Microsoft to do?

If your response referred to PS3, please tell me where i can find the
timeline & tracks? I apologise for being so confused.

I am using MM2 but am SO frustrated by having to make a pan/zoom clip in PS3
& importing many times. And, i haven't even saved a final movie yet to have
to deal with the hassles of how to export MM2 to DVD. With the exception of
the titles, i think my first project could be in PS3 since it will be simple.
