Hi, I use Excel 2002 and Windows Vista 64 bit version. I am unable to recieve
data from web using new web query from particular sites anymore (the ones
which were working perfectly two days ago). I can display the web site,
choose the frames I want to import; after attemting to import to excel I get
the notice that I cannot get acces to the file (e.g. web site). Quite strange
to me. Data cannot go through from finance.yahoo.com (particular tickers,
which I can display during the process of creation the query). Can anybody
help?

Alojz, I am having the exact same problem! I've scoured the net for answers
and I'm not getting anywhere. Were you ever able to figure out the problem?
Is this something to do with Excel, or is it the website itself (perhaps
permissions, etc)

I noticed that the "Edit" icon is disabled (in IE toolbar) for the affected
sites... Is it that you just can't edit them? Strange! Please let me know.

Hi, I do not know exactly what you mean with Edit icon. All visible icons in
the IE toolbar when accessed via Excel are enabled, but I do not see anyone
for editting (I use Czech version of Windows and Office XP). As I said, I can
access the site, choose the frames I want to import. What I cannot do is
import itself. After I hit the button Import it gives me the message that
import failed. I was not able to solve the problem. I started to use
MSNStockQuote add-ins istead. The problem is obviously caused by
incompatibility between Vista and Office XP. The links still work when
running under Windows XP. Office XP is not supported by Microsoft anymore, I
gave up the chance to solve the problem.

That sucks..:( I wish Microsoft would post something about this in their help
files - there is nothing. I mean, its a very clear error message - "A
connection was established, but data is not available" - what does this mean?
The edit button - its just an option to open the page in an editor, so
Excel, Word, Frontpage, etc... You may not have it included in your toolbar
config (I think you can just add it in the settings) I noticed that it gets
disabled on the sites with the problem.
