Import/Export Quality

I use a program called fraps which is a paid version and not a trial version.
it records in AVI which im told is the best to record with. It comes out fine
with i play it on Windows Media Player. When it is imported into MM and i
used timeline to check out the clip, the quality greatly reduces. Ive tried
saving it into a movie and it comes out the same way. Ive saved it using
"best quality" and ive tried using the all of the other settings using one
clip and comparing and choosing the recommended is the best but still bad
quality. Ive also tried different video editing programs to edit with. so it
might be a computer setting that i messed up. i need help pls

The display resolution is reduced when viewed from
the Timeline/Storyboard...this will not affect your
completed project (especially noticable when viewed
fullscreen). If you view the clip by selecting it in the
Collections Pane it should look better.

If your saved video files are not the resolution you
require...you may need to use a Custom Profile:

Personally, I find the following .wmv profile to be
useful when saving movies.

Right click / Save as...drop it in the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\Profiles folder

In Movie Maker...the next time you save a movie...
Go to File / Save Movie file / Show More Choices /
Other Settings / Open the drop window and choose...
