I just loaded Outlook on a brand new Windows XP Machine
and am trying to use it.

I previously ran Outlook express and I am trying to do
two different things of which i have spent hours trying
to figure them out to no avail.

1) In Outlook Express I had different identities setup
and was able to toggle back and forth between them. Each
identitiy was for a different e-mail account and had its
own folders/address book etc. How do I set up something
similar in Outlook?

2) I have many e-mails and addresses in Outlook Express
(in seperate identities) on my old PC that i would like
to load into Outlook on my new PC. How do I transfer
them to my new PC (I have a ZIP disk but do not know
where the files can be found) and then import them into
Outlook?

Please help me!!!!

Thanks you.

1: Go to Windows Control Panel, Mail and click on "Show
Profiles". Add a new profile for each "identity"

2: In Outlook Express go to Tools, Options, Maintenance
and click on "store folder"

I have same problem but trying to transfer with floppies.
I moved the address book by going to FILES,
EXPORT,ADDRESS BOOK, then TEXT FILE and exported to my
floppy. WEnt to the new machine and IMPORTED. Worked
fine. The OE file is called wab.exe.
Hope this helps.
If you figure out how to transfer the messages please let
me know as when I try to EXPORT messages I get a
message "an error occured when initializing MAPI". Can't
figure that one.
