Click the Select Data button on the Chart Tools Design tab of the Ribbon.
You can then use the Chart Data Range to switch workbooks.
1. Open the workbook you want to add the data from
2. Select the chart on the slide
3. Click Select Data
4. Click View | Arrange All in Excel so you can see the workbook.
5. Click the button at the end of the Chart data range box
6. Click and drag to select the data in your workboook
7. Click the button again to expand the dialog and click OK
I did a Jing thing a few days ago for something different, but it demos that
button in steps 5 and 7. Here it is:

The thing is, your data now points to that other workbook, it doesn't update
the embedded workbook the chart is based on originally. To do that, I think
you'd have to copy/paste your data into the worksheet, because I also cannot
see a way to "Import Data."
It's interesting, though. You're the second person I've run into lately who
uses the Import Data option in 2003 charts, but it's not something I've seen
very many people using at all over the years.

I have a chart in PP 2007 and I want to import data from Excel to eplace
the
data that's already there. In 2003 I could go to the Import Data button
and
do it that way. Is there a way to the same in PP2007?
Thanks
