Import data from various cells in Excel files

I am looking for a method to import data from excel files using individual
cell references from various sheets within each file. Some of the data are
in absolute cells while ather data is in various ranges. Using Office XP. I
currently have an intermediate Excel workbook that imports the data from
selected files using VB and then use TransferSpreadsheet. My problem is that
some of the Excel files have over 40,000 records which limits me to one sheet
at a time and I have over 3000 to do. Any ideas.

Now , I have an idea that you can search for what you want on computer and
the steps you 'll do is to imput the name which is concerning your needs.
 
You can link the spreadsheet into Access, which could make it easier to
transfer your data. You can also link according the named ranges. I haven't
used that part, so I can't tell you how well it works.
