Hi

Does anyone know how to import business contact manager data into CRM3?

In both the CRM and BCM sales materials it states that you can import all
customer records (including history) from BCM to CRM3 easily. However, i
can't find any documentation on this anywhere.

Can someone help?

Cheers,

Dylan

Hi Dylan,

Migrating the BCM contacts is only possible from within the SBS version of
CRM. If you cannot use the SBS CRM version, then you'll have to find another
way to import that data (custom program, scribe etc).

Hope this helps,

Hi Ronald

thanks for you reply.

I am using the SBS version of CRM but still can find no directions on where
and how to do this. I have, however, just been informed that this is only
supported on the latest version of BCM and not previous - my client isn't
willing to buy a new version of BCM just to throw it away after migrating so
we have done a CSV export - data clean - and import as contacts. This does
mean that i've lost all the contact history though! :-(

Although my customer is happy enough i'm still a bit miffed that the
documentation says this is a supported migration but doesn't state that it
is version specific or give any instructions on how to do it.

Cheers,

Dylan

BCM exports to CSV.

BCM v2 is a free download to BCM v1 users.

I'd heard MS CRM supported importing .BCM files. Is that not the case?
The .BCM files will contain much more data than what BCM exports to CSV.
