Hi.

I mistakenly only copied my outlook express 5 *.dbx files
when I clean installed my 98 system to XP.

I am now using outlook 2000 as my mail client and want to
import my address book/contacts, but when I imported my
mail folders, the address book didnt come with it.

From reading the other messages on here I think I know
the answer but...

How do I import my address book if I have *.dbx files
only? is it possible or have I really shot myself in the
foot by not copying any *.pst files?

Cheers

Outlook cannot access dbx files. Only OE can. You should import them into OE
first, then import directly from OE into Outlook.

if I import the dbx files into outlook express will I
also retrieve my address book as well as the mails?

That's an OE question. You should ask in an OE group how to back up OE
files.
This is a group to support Outlook from the Office group of programs.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and is a quite different
program despite its similar name..

You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an
outlook express news group.

Try posting in one of these newsgroups:

microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.mail.mac for the Macintosh version of OE

You can find more help on OE here:
