I'm trapped in Act! and can't get out. Does the new Outlook 2007 have a tool
to import my Act! 9.0 data?

Outlook 2007 only supports versions of ACT till 7.0. It does not support
8.0, 9.0 and any upgrade patches of 7.0.

We've made it work with no effort, actually. You have to have ACT! 9.0
loaded on the same PC as BCM and it recognized it just fine.

Lon,

Have you devised a solution for importing ACT ver 7 when the ACT database
number is not the same as the program? I tried using ACTDIAG to address this
problem from a workstation, but I could not get the application to point at
our database on the server, only the local blank DB. Can you help me, please!

Try this -- BACKUP YOUR DATABASE first, before trying anything, please!

Launch actdiag.exe. Click on the Databases tab on the bottom left. Right
click on the database you want to update, choose Database Rebuild, then
choose Rebuild Schema.

Does that get the schema version updated correctly?

What about importing ACT! 8.0? I cana get it to start the conversion, but it
dies. I have about 23,000 contacts. It dies after about 700.

The problem is that ACT! 8.0 changed some fields from 7.0, and ACT!
9.0 did the same again.

If you don't use those fields, then the ACT! 7.0 import module will
work with ACT! 8 and 9. But if when it runs into one of those new
fields, it fails and stops.
