I am trying to open and edit a (floppy) .img image file. I have tried
CDMage, IsoBuster, and ExtractNow (no help). Either of these programs
cannot open or recognize the file. They think it is a CloneCD image
file. I am trying to extract the files, add new files and then remake
the .img file again. Is there a free utility to work with floppy image
files?

This might possibly be the program the image was created with?

I am sure that this is not the case, but are you 100% sure this is not
an actual GRAPHICS file? .img is also a graphics format. I am sure
this is not the case, but I thought I would ask.

Is it possible that this image file may have come from a Mac floppy?
Sometimes these have a .img extension.

Thanks,

It is a file I am extracting from a cd image (iso). The file is in the
form of a .img file that is associated with Floppy Image. The file is
2.91 megs in size. I don't want to put in onto a floppy disk. I just
want to open it to change some files and then put it back together. I
think WinImage is the program that can accomplish this but it is
shareware. I was hoping that CDMage or IsoBuster could do it but they
can't open the file. If there is no other alternative I will just let
it go. Thanks for everyones help.

See if you can open it with Irfanview or equivalent.
