imap server freeware?

Hi, I need an IMAP server, si there an freeware for windows XP? If I
setup IMAP server is it compatibile with linux IMAP server? I think that
they sould be able to give me cross-paltform emailing, am I right?

Mercury/32 http://www.pmail.com/ supports IMAP as well as POP3
(and btw SMTP) and has plenty of features, give it a spin

I'm also interested in a free IMAP server.
I tried pmail.com mercury server but it does not support sub-folders and
i really need that feature.

Any other suggestion?

have you user imap functions? I'm rather comfused by overwelming
quantity of options... is there a quick step-by-step tutorial on how to
configure Mercury as IMAP server?
