imap "A connection to the server could not be established"

Hi!

I’m having some problems with outlook 2003 . I put all the necessary information in to set up my IMAP account, but it always says ” A connection to the server could not be established. imap.aol.com is in offline mode.”

I have configured the same info on another PC and it works.

I know it PC Specific.

Is there any thing else I should check.

I can’t figure out why it says that, if you have any answers, please email me.

Do you have any anti-virus software installed that may be acting as a go-between with the computer and mail server? If so, try disabling it momentarily to see if it can access the server - that will eliminate one possibility :)
 
I suppose you have a problem with network.
Something wrong can be with firewall or TCP settings. Your network configuration should be described in more detail.
