Hi,

We are looking into host our own internet email server (around 200
users), and both Imail from Ipswitch and Merak looks good. Just want
to see that if anybody has experience with them and how good they are.

Thanks in advance,

Song Chen

Going on four years with iMail and happy. Used by many ISP's and
hosting companies as well. Look into add-ons such as declude for
anti-virus and spam control, as well as the built-in solutions with
iMail v.8.

WE HOST WEBSITES AND EMAIL ACCOUNTS FOR ABOUT 15 DIFFERENT
COMPANIES. IMAIL IS AWESOME AND EASY TO USE.

But unfortunately only appears to work with CAPITAL LETTERS...

Thanks for the responses, does anyone have experience with the Merak mail server?

Thank you,

I use Merak mail and love it...never once a hicup.

Much better user interface than imail...also better pricing!

Hello Song,

The company I work for has used Merak Mail Server for a few years
since version 4. They're now at version 7 with their GroupWare
release. When we started using it we had roughly 5500 users and
migrated from Imail due to stability reasons, now we have over 32,000
users on a dual 3 gig Xeon server.

Since we first began using it, they have made a whole slew of
additions including Antivirus which supposedly scans over 2000
messages per second, instant messaging which we have only deployed for
our own internal use but like it quite a lot. However, their most
impressive component is the antispam solution that we began selling as
an added value to our customers. Those who are using it report near
100% accuracy. This is exactly what Merak advertises and we were quite
skeptical at first but with a little, and I do mean little,
configuration it works as advertised.

I highly recommend taking a close look at it.

Oh, our server has been running on Windows 2000 Server without
interruption for over 2 years, with the exception of one blue screen
which we could not attribute to Merak.

I hope this helps.

Happy New Year.
