images won't show up

hi people. i am having problems with loading certain
pages. primarily those with images (photographs). a box
with a red "x" in it appears; when i select "show picture"
nothing appears. have i selected or deselected something
in the "options" menu or somewhere else, along the line?

any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I think your problem is related to Java or MS VM not
being installed/enabled. I have the same problem but
have not figured out how to install VM I need. Check
your security settings in internet control panel to see
if Java is enabled.
