Images won't display

I'm running Outlook 2002 and for some reason it has
stopped displaying images in RTF and HTML messages. Even
if I send a message to myself containing an image it will
not open/display it in the preview pane or after opening
the message; a placeholder is shown in place of where
the image should be. Is there anyway to fix this? I get
quite a bit of HTML mail and none of it displays
properly... I have symmantec antivirus running (though I
don't think this is the cause of the problem) and I don't
have any spam filters running either (AFAIK). Any help
would be appreciated. TIA-- Ben

Outlook never displayed images in the preview pane unless the sender
embedded the image in the mail. Also, if you are using Word as the editor,
try turning it off and see if you get the picture attachments.

the pictures not being displayed seem to be part of
the "safe senders" and/or "automatic download settings".
I was having the same problem and was able to get the
pictures to display in the preview pane by double
clicking to open the email in its own window. At the top
of the message (directly under the toolbar) you'll see a
highlighted text telling you that images were not
displayed as part of a privacy feature, click here to
download pictures. You can also right click on that same
highlighted text and choose to change your automatic
download settings for all emails.

Hope that helps!

I am having the same problem with Outlook 2000 running on a Windows XP Pro machine. Images embedded in e-mails received are not displayed when e-mail is opened, only the placeholder is visible (the red x). This has happened only recently, is there a fix? I too am running Norton Antivirus and I do not have spam filters configures. Also, my father, who is running Windows 98 and Outlook 97 (he may use Outlook Express for e-mail) is having the same problem. Please advise us if there is a fix for this issue
TIA - Whitewol
