Images Will 'Smudge' in IE6 When Scrolling

Hi all,

I need a tech expert on this one, because I am wondering
if this is due to a motherboard problem.

I am running WinME again after having reinstalled XP 4
times and getting serious errors. I have a P3 500.

I had 15 IE windows open this morning..I know it's a
lot...and had a different web page loaded in each window.
On some of them when I scrolled, their background images
or words on the page would 'smudge' when I scrolled. So,
if I scrolled all the way back up the page, I couldn't see
anything because it had all been covered by the 'smudged'
images/words.

Also, the form fields on some pages turned completely
black so that I couldn't see what I was typing into them.

I have had the 'smudging' problem before, but never the
black form fields. I am wondering if all this OS
reinstalling has caused some problems with my motherboard
and they are manifesting themselves in my browser.

Anyone have any ideas? Suggestions would be appreciated!

This sounds like your Graphics card is not keeping up with
the screen refresh - I suspect that if you minimise the
window and then open it again it will have been redrawn
again. If this is the case then check drivers for your
graphics card - I doubt that it will be your motherboard.

XP might install some updated drivers that may have been
backed out to standard drivers rather then the hardware
specific ones.

Regards
David
