But each time I try to introduce a picture it come up as a red cross and no
picture.
Is there anyone who can help me. My family overseas cant see my new
grandaughter. <Sympathy please>
Thank you in advance.

1) Make sure you have a web open (not just a page) in FP
(File Open Web or File New Web)
2) Use File Import and import your images into your FP web
(say into your images folder)
3) Drag them from Folder List onto your page
(make sure you remove all spaces and punctuation from file names)
4) File Publish Web

As a beginner myself, I found that when I saw the "X" instead of a picture,
it meant I had a mistake in the address of where the physical picture was
located. In other words, very carefully check the spelling etc. of where
you told FP to find the picture on the server (of your Internet Service
Provider), you just might find an error.

did you "import" the images into frontpage ??

if you did not you most likely have the link pointing to
your c:/ drive

import images into image folder in frontpage
place images again in desired location
then publish

regards
