If it's a DC you are trying to image, no. The data will be out of date and
will cause major issues if you were ever to put the image on a machine in
the future if a server crashed.
If it's a member server, the secure trust will be broken and will need to be
disjoined and rejoined.
Use backup software, and backup the system state on a daily basis.
