Image source drops web reference when saved in FrontPage 2002

I've noticed that when I insert an image that is stored remotely on a server
that the source code initially gives the "http://..." source for the image
but once I save it the web address info is dropped from the source code and
it only gives the fjile name of the image. (I'm guessing that's because it
saved it locally?) How do I keep the web source in the code when I save?
Thanks.

I am not quite sure I undertand. Where is it that the file name is stored
without the http://.. ?

Why not cut the entire name (Ctrl-C) and then paste it back (Ctrl-V) over
the place where the filename is stored.

I also wonder how the reference without the http://.. would work unless the
file is stored in the same directory (perhaps it is)

Make sure when you save the page and you are prompted to save the embedded image, that you select
the option just leave the reference as is.

Do not save the image. In the image-save dialogue use the Modify
button and change to Do not save (wording may be different).
Note that hot-linking to another site is frowned upon since you are
stealing their bandwidth (which may be expensive), unless the other
site is yours or you have permission from the siteowner to do so.

Thanks, everyone - I tried that and it worked. (I was hesitant to do that at
first because I thought it wouldn't save any of the changes I made to the
page but it did) I'm trying to use the page as a template for online
auctions, versus my own web page, so I just needed to figure out how to keep
the reference to my images that are stored remotely so when I copy and paste
my HTML my page is viewed correctly.

Thanks again!
