Part of my sample paper asks me to change the resolution of one of my images,
do I do this in front page or Photo editor? Is is just a matter of changing
the image size or changing colours from 256 to ?

Thanks

Steve

You need to do it in a photo editor. It's a matter of changing the number of
pixels that comprise the image. If the image is 400 x 300, it has 120,000
pixels. You want to change it to something like 200 x 150, so that it has
30,000 pixels.

With your image editor (Irfanview is free) you need to size your image set
the resolution to 72 and optimize it so that it will load firly quickly. If
you only have one on a page it could even be 50 - 80 kb., Maybe even 600 x
400 if need be.

I don't get it, Eleanor - how would that be "changing the resolution", since
he may well already have a 72 dpi resolution? I didn't read his question as
asking general directions on how to resize and optimize an image, but maybe
I'm wrong.

I have a feeling that the original poster knows very little about using
images in a web site. Your suggestion simply had him resizing the image. I
wish one of my tutorials was more up to date or I would have suggested it.
