I am using Frontpage 2000. Earthlink is my host.
When I publish a good jpg or bmp to my website, it looks fuzzy and dirty.
How can I keep the quality? I am using the default resolution of 75.
Thanks, Jeannine

Are you resizing it in FP?...if you are; don't.

Post the URL to the page with the image problem.

Use a resolution of 92 dpi. 75 dpi may look a little fuzzy on Windows -
or you may have over compressed them.

..bmp images do not have a dpi setting, but should not be used. They
are huge, and only display in Internet Explorer.

So now I have a new set of questions, which I guess I need to ask in a
Photoshop newsgroup. If I don't resize the image in FP, then where?
Thanks, Jeannine

If you have PS..use it..it's the king.

Another indespensible tool is IrFanview (freebie)...excellent image
processor for resizing, optimizing, renaming...and batch processing is much
easier (at least for me) than PS.

Never use FP for image processing/editing...evernever.

Not just FP, but any website development tool.
Here is how I do it:
First I just throw the images up there with the text and resize using
FrontPage until I am happy with the layout. Then I look at the image
properties and write down the sizes. Then I go into my image editor and
resample/resize the images to match the sizes on the page. Then I swap
out the images and use the ones that have the new correct size.

Otherwise, you are just guessing what image size will look right on the
page.

quicker;;;
register PS as your default image editor in FP
import your images into fp and use them to block out your design...then read
the properties to get the size (write it down if you're as easily confused
as i)
right click your image file in FP this will open it in PS (or whatever you
have registered as your image editor) edit it as you will (make sure you
have the dimensions you want), the SAVE this will automatically apply the
edit to your image in FP...then Save the Page and let it overwrite the
existing file .
