What would be the best tool for searching hard drive and removeable media
for ALL image files (including those located in archives and temp files??).
Ideally the resulting list would have full path for each image file.

Well 'best' is highly subjective. I am very fond of ThumbsPlus
<www.cerious.com> and it will do this and so much more but it's not
freeware.
