I can't seem to find out how to change the default image
editor in Windows XP. It defaults to MS-Paint and I want
it to pull up Photoshop or PSP.

Thanks for any help.

right click the file and choose open with and then choose the program and
check always use this program when viewing this file type.

I don't think either of those 2 previous responses were
really what you were looking for.

One way to do this is to go to either Photoshop or PSP
(whichever you prefer) and look for a place to choose
what file associations the program has. I use PSP7, so
for me it would be under File -> Preferences -> File
Format Associations... Go there and select which file
types you want to be handled by default by that program.
I don't use Photoshop so I don't know exactly where the
appropriate command would be, but this should give you an
idea.

Hope this helped,

Although the last response is true........... keep in mind, that
changing the associations to your image files to Photoshop, will also
make it the default VIEWER for that file as well as editor.
And being that Photoshop is a MUCH slower program to load than your
default veiwer.... you MAY want to leave your associations alone, and
use the "open file" feature of Photoshop for editing.
