I have a Mitsubishi DiamondPoint V50LCD Flat Panel
Monitor. Whenever I view any graphics (i.e. .jpg, .gif)
the images consist of tiny blocks until I right click on
the image and click on "show original image". Then the
image refreshes and looks normal. I contacted Tech Support
for the monitor and they said it was a program issue
(something may be configured incorrectly). Can anyone help
me with this problem? It is really annoying to view pics,
especially online. Thanks.

Open Control Panel, open Internet Options, go to the Advanced tab, scroll to
Multimedia and be sure show images is checked, make sure "Show image
download placeholders" is not selected, click apply and ok.

If that already is selected, you may have some security software blocking
images, check any firewalls, antivirus, add blocking and popup blocking
software you may have installed on your system and be sure their one of
their options isn't blocking images.

Mike-
Thanks for the tip. I will try it when I get home this
evening. I'm not sure it will be the solution. I see the
graphics but they consist of blocks of the graphic. When I
click on "show original image" then the image smooths out
and the picture looks normal. I don't know if the correct
term is pixalated but the graphic is distorted. I'll let
you know how it works out.
Thanks-
Sue

You're welcome.

In addition to what I've mentioned, be sure you have the monitor set to its
native resolution, neither higher or lower than what the manufacturer
recommends. LCD monitors need to be set at the resolution for which they
were designed.

Some users do change that resolution but it can have a bad effect or cause
other problems and distortion.

Good catch, thanks, David and yes, certainly something else to check and
disable if one is installed.

It probably a download accelarator.

1. Going by David's advice.

Inspect if a download manager is causing this. Download Toolbarcop from here:
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/utils/ToolbarCop.exe
Click Options, "Eliminate download hooks and Protocol handlers"
