image background

I am trying to paste an image of a product i got off the internet onto a
slide with a dark background. is there a way i can only get the product to
show up and not the white background of the copied picture? i tried clicking
"transparent color" on the formatting pallette but i couldnt do it....Thanks!

If the transparent tool didn't work it means that the "white" background is
not just one colour (even a tiny variation in shade won't work)

Assuming that the shape is not rectangular and you can use the crop tool
then you really need an image editor to do this. If your stuck email me the
pic and I'll try for you. I'm assuming you're not breaking any copyright BTW!
